Anyone lucky enough to have seen the Broadway show Fela! knows that it has amazing music. No, it’s not your typical, two-beat Broadway score; it’s incredibly energetic Afro-Beat music, played by a killer live band onstage. Our friends at Indaba music have posted another new remix contest and this one is based on tracks from one of the show’s songs, “I.T.T. (International Thief Thief).” If you want a chance to mess with some really cool sounding tracks, this is a good opportunity. Check it out here
Those of you in the NYC area might want to check out the IMSTA Festa, which is a music-software-related event on Saturday, Sept. 25th, between 11 AM and 7 PM at the SAE Institute, 1293 Broadway [6th & 34th] New York, NY 10001.
There will be companies displaying their products, panel discussions, software giveaways, and even a song competition (bring MP3s of your best material if you want to compete).
The best part about this is that it’s free, but does require advanced registration online. Go to http://www.imsta.org/imsta_festa.php for more info.
