Los Angeles, CA – Recently the USC Thornton School of Music was faced with sound transmission issues, and Auralex Acoustics was happy to help. Adjunct Professor of Jazz Studies and renowned jazz drummer, Peter Erskine, knows the issues of sound transmission well. As an expert drummer, Mr. Erskine has a good handle on how to control sound as well as the sound isolation issues caused by drums and drumming. This band of students at USC Thornton School of Music posed a new issue for him, though; a classroom of students simultaneously drumming on electronic kits with rubber kick pedal pads still would seemingly be a perfect solution for controlling the preserved noise level for the rest of the building. more…
