Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson is recording the music of George Gershwin at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood. Wilson has been authorized by Gershwin’s estate to complete unfinished songs Gershwin left incomplete when he died in 1937. Initially, two songs are being recorded for a proposed album due out in 2010.


Gershwin’s great-nephew Todd Gershwin is a trustee of the family trust and has stated that both Gershwin and Wilson were musical visionaries known for combining various musical genres in their compositions. The more

At this year’s AES Convention in NYC, Genelec’s DSP Multichannel Monitoring System was used to demonstrate the new Penteo Surround process, which automatically converts stereo material into 5.1 audio. The Genelec system consists of 3 x 8260A monitors (a new AES product unveiling) in an L-C-R arrangement, 2 x 8240A for the rear channels, and a 7270A subwoofer. Penteo Surround is featured in the hit film “Inglourious Basterds,” with classics such as David Bowie’s “Cat People” in newly upmastered 5.1 Surround. more
