The Audio Engineering Society is in town at the Javits Center for its annual display of the latest in recording, broadcast, and mobile audio technology with crowds of young attendees buoyed by a cautiously resurgent economy and a passion for sound.

ADAM Audio, designer and manufacturer of studio monitor systems and high end home speakers, held a special gathering of friends and supporters at one of New York city’s least kept secrets, the elegant Hudson Hotel next to the Time Warner Center.

Physicist and company founder Klaus Heinz gave a short presentation previewing his new SX Series monitors. Heinz’ passion has produced monitor speakers currently used by The Julliard School Recording Department, Jazz At Lincoln Center, XM Satellite Radio, Effanel, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, 20th Century Fox Digital and Prince’s Paisley Park studios, to name but a few.

A force in worldwide recording and the home theater market, ADAM has built sophisticated speakers based on a theoretical breakthrough from Dr. Oskar Heil, the accelerating ribbon transducer, which reproduces high frequencies in a completely different way, and offer a level of transparent reproduction unheard of until now.

Notable guests included John Storyk (pictured here with Heinz), founder and president of Walters-Story Design Group, the country’s visionary architect and acoustician for recording and broadcast studios, and live sound venues.
