ELIXIR™ CABLES GO THE EXTRA MILE FOR WORLD CLASS BASSIST DEREK JONES

Elkton, MD, June 5, 2008 Renowned bassist Derek Jones is going the distance with Elixir™ Cables as he uses the company’s first non-string product for performances during Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. Jones, who has worked with such artists as Sheila E., Crystal Gale, and Nickel Creek says that Elixir™ Cables are proving most beneficial.

Jones, who performs in a complicated staging area consisting of a 170-ton floating stage that moves sideways over 12 stories of open air, adds, “In having a moveable stage that rotates from above leaves our band with no real place on stage,” explains Jones. “This means tonal quality is that much more critical.”

“When first plugging in my new Elixir cable, my drummer asked, ‘What did you just do, it sounds great,’” says Jones. “Both of us looked at each other and couldn’t get over the exceptional sound that was being generated.”

Jones adds, “Ever since I began using Elixir Cables my bass has more tone in the mix without me ever having to touch my tone controls. My notes are clearer and the frequencies that are translated from my pick-ups are much richer.”

To date, Jones has not stopped using the Elixir™ Cable for his bass. “I love Elixir Strings, I love what they stand for and what they’re doing,” he says. “For Elixir Strings to come out with such a high quality cable is terrific.”

Featuring a patent-pending design, Elixir™ Cables delivers the most tonally transparent instrument signal. These innovative guitar cables offer the truest voice for your guitar by providing clearer high frequencies, and smoother, more balanced mids. The cables within the new line are available in lengths of 10, 15, 20, and 30’ (both right and straight angle jack plugs are available). Elixir™ Cables also features a unique combination of extreme durability and flexibility, with non-twist memory for superior

performance and easy, efficient use. The robust, branded plugs include custom grip housings for sure handling.
